An early start today found as on the motorway heading for Sekiguchi , very famous for breeding high quality showa . As always a warm welome greeted us from the brothers who run the farm . Also well known for breeding and developing the pearl gin rin , this time there diddnt seem to be many around so we concentrated on the nisai showa . This year the brothers excelled with the quality , but unfortunatley they also suffered from flooded mud ponds and lost alot of nisai so with numbers down the prices were always going to be a struggle with my budget . First koi to go in a bowl was anamazing male showa , the body was unbelieveable for a female let alone a male , show quality the breeder stated , wondering if this was sales talk or not , i asked if it was good enough to go to the Nogyosai show , and he replied yes , and we will put it in the show free of charge ! The price they were asking for a koi of this quality was high , but also very fair , but the problem is not many people will pay this sort of money for a male koi , even one of this quality .There is no doubt that it would hold its own at the next year or two at shows against females at the moment , but i have taken photos and videos and will think over night .Next up was another nisai , this time a female with options to leave in Japan , again another high quality koi with a fair price , but still alot of money to pat out .First picture , male showa , absolutely stunning in the bowl .Second pic female im thinking about to stay in Japan in the mudpond for one year .
